Why does Shoutly need my tax identification number (TIN) and how do I find it?

Shoutly requires your tax identification number (TIN) in order for us to properly report each payment to the relevant tax authority. Usually your TIN can be found in your tax-related documents. If you are unsure about your TIN, we recommend contacting your local tax authority for guidance and assistance.

Why don't I see anything on my dashboard?

If you don't see anything on your dashboard, it means you have no ongoing collaboration. You must be invited and agree to the collaboration in order for it to be shown.

Have you been invited but still don't see anything on your dashboard? Please contact us with your name and email, and we will assist you.

What do the different markers next to my collaborations mean?

Accepted: You have accepted the collaboration.

Declined: You have declined collaboration.

Automatically accepted: Collaboration is automatically accepted.

Cancelled: The collaboration is suspended.

Finished: The collaboration is over and done.

How do I change my currency, payment details or personal data?

If you log in and go to settings in the menu, you can change this.

How do I create a collaboration?

You can easily create a collaboration from your dashboard by clicking on “create collaboration”, the collaboration is then accepted by your client.

How do I accept an assignment?

If your client has created a collaboration proposal for you, you can easily see it in the Collaborations tab. The collaboration specifies the payment, schedule, agreement and delivery points. You accept the assignment easily by clicking “accept” in the assignment. If you have an hourly collaboration, the hourly report will appear when the end date of the collaboration is reached.

How do I register an account?

Create an account by clicking here. Follow the invitation you received by email and register with Mobile Bank ID. Register your profile with payment details and competencies. If you are a consulting company, you can also invite your colleagues. You can choose the currency and payment method that suits you best.

What should I do if the amount due to be paid to me is incorrect?

If the payment amount is incorrect, it may be because your client made a mistake or forgot to include a service. If you suspect an error, do not approve the payment until you have confirmed the details with your client. It is important that you contact them immediately about this, as Shoutly only receives the payment details and cannot make any changes. If a mistake has occurred, the client can create a new payment for you.

Can I invoice in a currency other than SEK?

Yes Shoutly supports multiple currencies, you can easily select the currency when creating your invoice. Here you can see all supported currencies.

What happens if my customer doesn't pay?

If payment is not made, we will send a reminder three working days after the due date. In case of continued non-payment, we will contact you regarding any debt collection. Before proceeding further, we need a written confirmation from the customer about your assignment.

How do I send an invoice through Shoutly?

To send an invoice through Shoutly, you must first create a free account, it only takes a few minutes. When you enter your dashboard, select “New invoice” and fill in the details.

When do I get my money?

Usually we will send your money the same day your customer has paid your bill. Once the transfer is complete, you can follow your money and see when it will reach your bank. If you have any questions, please contact us at contact@shoutly.com.

You must have set up an account for the payout in your Shoutly account in order for us to process the transaction.

Should I write the name of the organization I will receive my payment from or my name?

No, use your own name. The organization field is if you are part of an organization. The connection to the company is made through collaborations.

How much will my salary be?

How much you get paid for your assignments depends on how much you bill. When you invoice via Shoutly, you become employed by us, which means that we pay social security fees and taxes for you. Of your invoiced amount, about 50% will be deducted from the invoiced amount before it ends up in your private account. This is mostly due to statutory social security contributions and taxes, but also Shoutly's 2.95% administrative fee. This 2.95% includes not only help with administration, but it also includes an insurance policy so you should feel safe when freelancing via Shoutly.

How do I get paid for a completed assignment?

Payment for your collaboration will be paid to you automatically after the assignment is completed, provided that your client has paid your invoice. You can easily download accounting documents regarding the payment in the platform under the payments tab.

How does Shoutly handle VAT and taxes for payments in and outside Sweden?

Shoutly is a Swedish company, so payments within Sweden include direct taxes and VAT. For international payments, reverse VAT applies, which means that it is the buyer (Shoutly) and not you as the seller who reports the VAT. Therefore, no VAT will be deducted from your payment, and no VAT will be itemized or charged.

For companies in Sweden, 25% VAT will be added on your payments. If you have applied for a VAT registration number but have not yet received it, you must invoice the amount including VAT because you are still engaged in VAT activities.

For individuals in Sweden, you are paid as a fixed-term employee. That means Shoutly declares income tax and employer contributions. The amount deducted in tax is 30%. Shoutly cannot normally reduce the amount deducted in tax (in some cases, however, “adjustment” may apply). If you would like a higher amount to be deducted in tax, contact Shoutly at contact@shoutly.com.

Do I need to report my income from Shoutly to the tax authority?

If you are a Swedish citizen working in Sweden through Shoutly, you do not need to submit any data to the Swedish Tax Agency, Shoutly handles all of it.

Do you receive payment outside of Sweden?

Then you are required to report your income to the relevant tax authority.

What do I do if I get sick during my assignment?

First of all, you need to inform both your client and Shoutly that you have fallen ill, it should be done as quickly as possible. To inform Shoutly about your illness, send an email to contact@shoutly.com.

You will only receive sick pay for the days and hours that you would have worked through Shoutly. In order to receive sick pay from Shoutly, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be self-employed through Shoutly
  • You must have worked at least 14 continuous days before you got sick.
  • You need to have proof that the work you were going to perform was agreed upon before you fell ill.

There may be special rules depending on your work situation. If you have any questions about whether you are qualified to receive sick pay via Shoutly, please feel free to contact us.

When does the insurance take effect?

All you have to do in order for the insurance to apply is to create the collaboration before you start working. As soon as your client has accepted the assignment and the start date falls, you are insured via Shoutly. Shoutly insurance includes several different parts so you can feel safe.
